Been car shopping for about a month now and I keep going back and forth on what type of transmission to go with. Really like the fuel economy of CVTs and how smooth they feel around town but everyone I talk to has a strong opinion about whether they last or not. My brother in law had a Nissan with a CVT that gave him problems around 150,000km and he swears he'll never buy another one. But then I see so many newer cars on the road here with them and they seem to be doing fine. I do quite a bit of highway driving between Dubai and Sharjah for work so whatever I get needs to handle that without stressing out.
