Finally figured out why my alloys kept looking dull near the beach (40 views)

Just wanted to post this in case anyone else has been dealing with the same frustration and couldn't work out what was going on. I've lived in Dubai Marina for about two years now and I've always been pretty meticulous about keeping my car clean because I'm a bit particular about that sort of thing. But no matter how often I washed it, the alloy wheels would start looking dull and kind of chalky within a week or two and I couldn't understand why. I tried different cleaners, different techniques, even took it to a professional detailer once but the problem kept coming back. Eventually I did some proper research and found some coastal car care tips for Dubai drivers on nolcardcheck that explained how the combination of sea salt and brake dust basically creates a corrosive layer that regular washing doesn't fully remove. The solution ended up being pretty simple – using a dedicated wheel cleaner made for acid and fallout removal once a month and actually applying a wax sealant specifically for alloys which I'd never even heard of before. Now they actually stay shiny for more than a few days. Anyone else have little victories like this or am I just easily pleased?
