How can I get a blurry background to a photo instagram story without it being bad? (65 views)

Every time I try to blur the background in stories and put text on top it looks off. The contrast is wrong or the text gets lost. I've seen boostbysocial's client pages and their story layouts are clean af. Is there a specific app or method that gives that professional blurred instagram story background look? iPhone or Android methods both welcome.
