Recent Instagram follows hidden order (6 views)

28 May 2026 19:34

I have noticed that the list of followers on Instagram sometimes does not appear in chronological order. New followers might show up somewhere in the middle or below older accounts. Is Instagram intentionally hiding the chronological order, or is this just a glitch? I would like to understand how the display of recent followers works now.

Instagram does not always show follows in strict chronological order anymore, instead, it combines recency with factors like interaction, mutual connections, and overall activity. Because of this, the list may seem somewhat dynamic, but it is actually designed so that you see more relevant accounts first, making it more likely that you will notice accounts you actually interact with or that might interest you. Many users checking follow patterns through instagram recent followers service also find it helpful for understanding general activity trends, even if the exact order is not perfectly chronological.
