Noticing my car needs attention way more than my friend's similar model (11 views)

I have a friend who bought the exact same car as me around the same time. We were comparing notes recently and I was shocked to hear how little he's spent on maintenance compared to me. Same car, similar mileage, but I feel like I'm at the garage twice as often. The only real difference is where we drive. He does mostly highway commuting between cities. I spend my days driving around Sharjah's busy commercial areas for work. This got me thinking about auto servicing patterns in active locations and how much driving environment matters. I found an article that explained exactly why vehicles in busy commercial zones need more frequent attention. It covered how short trips in stop-start traffic prevent engines from fully warming up, leading to oil contamination and sludge. It also mentioned that constant braking in congested areas wears pads down much faster and that dust from industrial zones clogs air filters prematurely. Now it makes perfect sense why our cars have different needs despite being identical. Anyone else notice this pattern comparing their city car to someone's highway driver?
