Recovery of Shares (4 อ่าน)

16 ก.พ. 2569 19:28

Recovery of sharesrefers to the process through which shareholders or their legal heirs reclaim shares that are unclaimed, lost, or transferred to the Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF). Under the Companies Act, 2013, shares on which dividends remain unclaimed for seven consecutive years are transferred to the IEPF along with the corresponding dividend amount. To recover these shares, the claimant must file Form IEPF-5 on the IEPF portal and submit the required documents to the company and the IEPF Authority.

The process involves verification of identity, entitlement, and ownership through documents such as PAN, Aadhaar, original share certificates (if available), indemnity bond, affidavit, cancelled cheque, and client master list. In case of deceased shareholders, legal heir documents, succession certificate, or probate (if applicable) may be required. After verification by the company and approval from the IEPF Authority, the shares are credited to the claimant’s demat account. This process helps investors or their families regain ownership of long-unclaimed investments.
