Hey all, wanted to share my experience with food in Chefchaouen since I spent way too much time stressing about where to eat before my trip. The blue city is absolutely gorgeous but I'll be honest, the food scene is a bit hit or miss compared to somewhere like Fes or Marrakech. After a few mediocre meals, we finally found some gems. I had saved a post about the best restaurants chefchaouen from this forum actually, and it really helped us navigate. Our absolute favorite was this small place up in the medina with maybe five tables and the most incredible lamb tagine with prunes - I still dream about it. Another spot had a rooftop with amazing views where we went for mint tea and pastries at sunset. A few tips: don't be afraid to venture away from the main plaza, the places tucked down side streets often have better food and lower prices. Also, if a restaurant has a guy outside trying to pull you in, the food is probably just okay. The best meals we had were at places we found by just wandering and following our noses.
