Despite constantly making changes to their lineup, India have been impressive in all three games and this final one was definitely the best of the lot. Rohit Sharma set it up with the bat, the lower order provided a strong finish and then Axar did some damage in the second half to add to New Zealand's misery. They never recovered from it and folded for just 111. They will have to pick themselves up from this and play a Test match after a three-day break. Another run out. Ishan Kishan is in the thick of things once again as he effects his second run out of the night. This time, it's a direct hit almost from midwicket, that was a sensational throw. Santner's decision to go for the second run backfires. 3-0 result is inevitable now. New Zealand stutter. Another one goes down as New Zealand edge closer to a defeat. Harshal Patel gets into the act now and that's wicket number 6. Neesham tries to smash Harshal but mistimes it completely to get a top edge. Pant calls for the catch and takes it quite well despite the amount of time the ball spent in the air. A needless run out. Seifert is absolutely livid. Not sure if he is angry with himself or with Neesham for not entertaining a second run. In all honesty, Neesham was right. There was no second run as Seifert just casually tried to steal and perishes by falling short of the crease. Santner enters the fray now. Can he weave some magic with the bat as well tonight? Guptill falls. Chahal needed that to boost his own confidence. Guptill has been doing this pretty often as he once again tries to take on the bowler without even watching the ball after connecting. He only manages a top edge which almost goes all the way but SKY at the boundary stations himself perfectly to take the catch. New Zealand have suffered a killer blow here. 50 for Guptill. What an innings!! One man at one end has done all the scoring for New Zealand with wickets falling at the other. New Zealand have made only 68 at the halfway mark but Guptill has managed a half-century in that. He needs to carry on to keep NZ in the hunt. They need some big overs. Third for Axar! He's ripped through that top order. Glenn Phillips tries the reverse sweep, but misses a skidder and sees his leg stump knocked over. The dew, if any, hasn't taken effect so far and Axar's spinning a loop with his variations. Two in the over for Axar! The new man Mark Chapman is also done in by the turn. He dances down the track but the turn beats him on the inside edge. Pant finishes a sharp stumping chance, and NZ in a spot of bother now thanks to Axar. Axar strikes first ball. Daryl Mitchell tries to put the pressure on Axar straightaway but is done in by some grip and turn, and he ends up chipping it inside the circle on the offside. NZ 21/1 in the third. Guptill tees off. and is dropped. Deepak Chahar is lofted twice down the ground by Guptill, but he miscues the third attempt. The skier is put down by Chahar pedalling back, much to the anger of Rohit Sharma. India finish with 184. Wow, that's still a powerful finish from India despite the flurry of wickets in the second half of their innings. They do have a lengthy batting order and that came to the fore with the lower order making vital contributions. This is a good surface and with dew expected to make an impact, you can expect NZ to put up a good fight in the chase. Another blow for India. Both the set batsmen are now back in the hut. Once again, it's the knuckle ball that does the damage as Shreyas Iyer mistimes one to long on. Adam Milne is the beneficiary this time. Well bowled, New Zealand. They have really staged a strong comeback. Harshal and Axar no mugs with the bat but NZ will sense a real chance to keep India under 170 here. Crucial wicket. Venky Iyer falls. Trent Boult deceives him with the knuckle ball as Venkatesh mistimes a shot only to get caught by the running fielder. He falls for 20. New Zealand now have a real chance of restricting India to a par total. Can Venky finish games? This is a great audition for Venkatesh Iyer to be a considered a finisher for India going ahead if Hardik Pandya continues to not bowl. He has already made a very good start now against the spinners. It will be interesting to see what he can do at the death against pace. Lucky catch or a stunner? You got to see it to make up your mind but the end result matters more than anything. Rohit came down the track to Ish Sodhi and hit one straight back at the bowler who just struck his hand out and managed to pluck it one-handed. Rohit's wicket is huge for the visiting side at this juncture. Both the skippers are standing tall tonight for their respective sides. Rohit has now reached his half-century and with India struggling a touch, he would ideally want to bat deep. His love story with Eden Gardens continues. It's 3 for Mitch!! The man with the golden arm tonight has put NZ on top now. Mitch Santner strikes again as Pant decides to take on him and perish eventually. He only manages to get a top edge while attempting the slog sweep and now India have sent in Shreyas Iyer. One can expect these two to not take any risks now. India's start has been negated to an extent. After scoring 69 in the first six, they have added only 21 in the next four. New Zealand fight back. Wow, Santner is pulling things back for New Zealand. He has removed Suryakumar Yadav as well now after already getting rid of Ishan in the same over earlier. SKY mistimes one straight to extra cover where Guptill completes the catch. Can New Zealand capitalise on this? Ishan falls. Jinxed!! Ishan doesn't get going further post the powerplay and has nicked behind. Mitchell Santner strikes straightaway after bringing himself on. Top stuff from the skipper!! SKY joins Rohit out in the middle. What a powerplay for India!!
